Membership Forms

From UKIPBWC

Jump to: navigation, search

Many UKIP websites direct potential members to ukip.org, where they can sign up online.

The problem with this is that membership dues for the first year then end up with UKIP central, rather than the branch. To get around this, some websites have a print-out, fill in and post with cheque form on their site. The best way, however, is to use html forms to enable users to pre-fill-out the form with clear typing, then print and send off.

An example of such a form can be found here on the UKIP Yardley site.

Aside from the obvious (name, address, where to send etc.), the following points should be borne in mind:

Postcode and Email

Please offer fields to allow these to be captured!

Postcodes are used for address validation at HQ, and also to determine which ward/ constituency the member belongs to. Emails are used for communication to and from HQ on an increasing basis - we want as many as possible.

Membership Dues

As of Nov 2011, there are a range of membership dues available. See the Yardley site for the latest situation.

Confirmation of terms and Conditions

Members need to sign a box confirming that they have read and accepted both the UKIP Constitition, and the Terms and Conditions of Membership.
